  1. Dear Pam, Shevry & all Davis Family,
    God has truly called another Earthly Angel, our beloved LaVern to join His Heavenly Host. The Lomax & Williams Families share in this devastating loss and offer our sincere heartfelt condolences. We attended Speight High School together but families became forever united when our deceased beloved sister (Gladys) and beloved LaVern married brothers. She has impacted Eddie & Janice lives forever with her unconditional love, wisdom, laughter and support. We remember so many enlightened conversations, shared activities and meals. Her love for the music of Otis Redding will continue to resonate great memories whenever we hear his music. LaVern will be forever loved & missed.

    Our prayer is for God’s loving embrace, the many kind acts and all the shared treasured memories will sustain you during this difficult time today and the days ahead.

    Loving Remembrance,
    The Carson & Janice ( Williams) Lomax Family

  2. We are so sorry for the passing of sister LaVern Davis. She was a great lady by any definition. Her energy and positive attitude added light to any room or gathering.
    She and my sister Gladys Davis were extremely close. I grew up observing that unique relationships and loved it. Rest in peace LaVern. Continue to use/apply your positive and uplifting personality to share with those in your new and well deserved home in Gods house and on the streets of Heaven.

  3. Dear Family. May you be comforted by God’s Word and His presence. May precious memories of our dear loved one ever grow more precious as you linger in them. May the hope of seeing her again when we all get to heaven motivate you to live on purpose for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And may prayers and kind words, in some way, help you press through this time of bereavement. This is our prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!

  4. It was so wonderful getting to know Lavern as a cousin, when, although she was attending the same school as I did, Speight, we didn’t know we were cousins. She was quite a few years ahead of me. I feel blessed to have gotten to know her in the later years. She was the only Speight sister who knew my mother as “ Ada Gold”. She was part of the Williams, Speight family.

  5. We had so much laughter together talking about our two children and grandsons and daughters. You will truly be missed.Rest in peace.

  6. Just finding out about her death.

    To the family:
    Please accept my sincere condolences. May the comfort of others and most importantly the endless comfort from Jehovah God. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4).

    Now, regarding the decease:
    I had the privileged to know Mrs. Davis. We were neighbors. My parents moved on North Capitol St (1958). Mrs. Davis and I rode the K2 (metro bus) together. We enjoyed each other company along with conversations that brought us laughter.

    Death no doubt is the enemy. However, Jesus’ sacrificial death made a way that we will see our love ones again. While we await patiently I encourage you to check out the official website JW.org. In the search bar key any subject that may be heavy on your heart. When we (The Jackson’s) loss our mom in death (2022) I meditated on the following scriptures for more comfort: John 5:28a;
    Isaiah 41:10, 13; and Revelation 21:4
