Maryland reported its fewest coronavirus cases in a single day on Monday since July 6.
After the daily total of reported cases on Sunday fell below 500 for the first time since March 2, that number again dropped significantly the following day to just 276, according to the state health department.
Plus, the state’s seven-day average testing positivity rate fell from 3.31% to 3.06% — the lowest level since October.
Officials reported 798 coronavirus-related hospitalizations, 24 fewer than Sunday and the lowest since March 18.
As of Monday, Maryland has reported 453,401 coronavirus cases and 8,670 related deaths, according to health department statistics.
The state has administered approximately 5.3 million doses of coronavirus vaccine, with about 2.4 million residents now fully vaccinated, according to the health department.
