Maryland officials reported only one coronavirus-related death Monday, the lowest the state’s death toll has been since March 30.

The number of deaths per week has fallen sharply since the deadliest stretch of the coronavirus pandemic for Maryland so far, which was April 25 through May 1 that had 375 virus-related deaths, WJLA-TV (Channel 7) reported.

September’s average of daily coronavirus-related deaths has been six per day, down from eight in August.

As of Tuesday, Maryland has 117,245 confirmed coronavirus cases and 3,706 deaths, according to a state tracker.
