Former first lady Michelle Obama will debut a new children’s food show on Netflix in hopes of bringing a “bit of light and laughter to homes around the world.”
The “Waffles + Mochi” show, which features two puppet friends, begins streaming on March 16.
The show, which aligns with Obama’s previous Partnership for a Healthier America initiative, is “all about good food, discovering it, cooking it, and of course, eating it,” according to an Obama Instagram post.
The characters “come from the land of frozen foods and with the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama [and] Waffles and Mochi who blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world,” Netflix said.
The program will also focus on improving the diets of millions of children by updating federal nutrition standards and bringing healthier meals to schools.
