REDMOND (The Westside Story) – Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced to launch the Surface Mini Windows 8.1 powered tablet in the U.S. on May 20th. The tablet is said to be powered by Intel manufactured low power running ARM processors and is all set to compete with Apple iPad Mini and Google Nexus 7-inch Android tablet.

The full sized Surface range of tablets has failed to gain any public traction, but with the release of a miniature version of its Surface series tablets, Microsoft is again gambling with its luck in mobile device market where it has failed to hold a noticeable position till now.

According to the latest updates, Surface Mini will feature an 8-inch multi-touch screen with an expected screen resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels. The Intel powered processor and cutting edge industrial design are going to be its key factor, suggested by new updates.
