Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich said his son got a โvery mildโ case of COVID-19 while on a recent trip to the U.S.
Elrichโs son fell ill in the weeks after returning to his home in Medellin, Colombia, from visiting family between late August and early September, the county executive told WTOP.
Elrich said his son, who is fully vaccinated, texted him that he tested positive for the disease.
โHe had a very mild case,โ Elrich said, WTOP reported Thursday. โHe was uncomfortable, didnโt have much energy and was pretty lethargic for about five days and returned to normal.โ
Elrich attributed his sonโs rapid recovery to his being vaccinated. He also said he didnโt have to get tested himself in connection to his sonโs breakthrough case, WTOP reported.
