The Department of Health and Human Services says that more than 1,000 unaccompanied migrant children in federal government custody have tested positive for the coronavirus since the outset of the pandemic in March.

The department-run Office of Refugee Resettlement has documented 1,061 such cases, with 943 of those children having recovered and exited medical isolation, CNN reported.

The remaining 118 children are still in medical isolation, though none have required hospitalization, CNN reported.
