MUHAMMAD: COVID-19 — Cuba Si! USA No!

In this time, when danger not seen in a century is once again stalking the entire planet, people and nations reveal their true characters by their actions.

I choose to lift up the example of the heroic Cuban people, who, despite 60 years of a cruel and unjust embargo imposed by the United States, are sending medical teams — doctors, nurses, equipment and Alpha Interferon, a possible COVID-19 cure — to embattled nations like Italy, Iran and Venezuela to offer humanitarian assistance to the needy in the pandemic’s epicenter.

I condemn the cruel response of the United States of America, which seeks to block needy nations from accepting Cuban medical aid, then gleefully boasts that because of crippling U.S. sanctions prohibiting even the importation of medical supplies to Iran, because of U.S. sanctions more Iranians will die! Cruel. Heartless. Inhumane. Some Israelis even celebrated the news that the coronavirus had spread so quickly and killed so many Iranians. Who cheers when a natural disaster kills people, except a demon? Israel Defense Forces even destroyed a makeshift Palestinian treatment facility.

Funny thing though, some Trumpistas in this country were told to intentionally contract the virus, and then intentionally spread it to Jews, according to Raw Story.

To the contrary: The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has told his followers to show the world by their beneficent actions, kindness and charity, that they are followers of the Good Samaritan. I believe that all American Christians should also want to be like the Good Samaritan.

Despite anything said otherwise, President Donald J. Trump and his Babylonian supporters are the evil opposite of The Samaritan. They only care about Trump remaining in power, no matter the cost, even to the lives of people in this country.

They think the country’s economic well-being is more important than the health of the people. They would put millions at risk by flaunting medical advice about safe, social distancing. They’re afraid that the radical shutdown of the marketplace will create a financial cure (recession/depression), that’s worse than death from the disease. Some even suggest that older Americans would be willing to absorb COVID-19 and die, so the economy can recover sooner. That’s pure B.S.

It reminds me of an explanation of the different views of slavery held by house slaves and field slaves. “If the master’s house caught on fire,” Brother Malcolm X explained, “the house slave would help put the fire out, but the field slave would pray for a strong wind.” Let members of the Trump, and Pence, and McConnell families be the first to volunteer to save the economy. I’m praying for the wind.

But judging by the lengths this now “wartime president” went in order to avoid military service when he was fighting age, not like now, commanding age, I don’t see any noblesse oblige coming from that crowd. They are in fact, unfit to lead.

At this time of world crisis, the U.S. is not extending a helping hand, not even in this country. Rather than investing in more efforts to battle COVID-19, the Trump regime declared Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro a “narco-terrorist” and posted a $15 million reward for his capture, dead or alive. Maduro, on the other hand, responded to the pandemic in his country by suspending rent payments, handing out bonuses and ensuring job security by pledging to pay employees’ wages.

But the worm may have turned, so to speak. Iran has joined China in calling for an investigation of Chinese charges that the United States is the originator of the novel coronavirus which is now marching around the world. Trump even refers to COVID-19 as the “Chinese virus,” but the Chinese insist that is the “typical way” in which U.S. officials blame China and Iran as just a way to “evade responsibility” themselves, according to a recent Newsweek report.

All Trump cares about is staying on top, period. He and his Little Big Horn-minded acolytes will lie, rob, cheat, steal, and even kill thousands to hold on to power. Still, I think Trump and all his wannabes will certainly get what’s coming to them. We all will.

“…Truth forever on the scaffold, wrong forever on the throne, but that scaffold sways the future, and behind the dim unknown, Standeth God, within the shadow, keeping watch above his own,” James Russell Lowell wrote in 1852.

One day, we will all know the truth. COVID-19: Cuba Si! USA No!
