If anyone was ever ready to be the Democratic nominee to challenge Donald J. Trump in the 2020 presidential election, it’s Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.). She is certainly ready!
Now that doesn’t mean that she will be the nominee, or that if nominated she could beat Trump, but she’s ready to go toe-to-toe with The Donald.
Months before her epic debate performance, she showed her formidable interrogation/debate skills during the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Her debate performance in Miami was so stunning that she was immediately targeted by the right-wing propaganda machine. They tried to smear her with a nativist, content-with-the oppressor, “Uncle Ruckus” type, so-called Negro-ish, Birtherism 2.0-style attack. They accused the former California attorney general of not being authentically “Black enough,” and others suggesting she was not really American.
Some “trolls” (as they are called) suggested that Harris was unfairly portraying herself as African American, since she is the daughter of a Jamaican father and an Indian mother. Donald Trump led a similar campaign against his arch nemesis Barack Obama, pressing him to reveal his “true” birthplace and birth certificate, persisting even after Obama was inaugurated.
It doesn’t matter if Kamala Harris is an ADOS (American Descendant of Slavery) or not. Never mind that. She attended an HBCU, Howard University, where she joined the nation’s oldest Black sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. Trust me. Harris’s Black Identity Card is secure.
The irony: Birtherism 1.0 was intended to alienate Obama from the larger white society, while Birtherism 2.0 is to distance Harris from Black voters who would otherwise have an affection for a super-competent Black woman candidate in high public office. Trump and his ilk treated both targets of Birtherism 1.0 and 2.0 just like he treated The Central Park Five: like he thought they were all niggers.
As afraid of her as the Trump team appears to be, Harris would hardly be a perfect candidate with no baggage of her own. She has yet to be challenged concerning her own controversial record, not as a criminal justice reformer, but as an enthusiastic practitioner during the Clinton-led Democrats’ “tough on crime” era of the 1990s, and when she was the district attorney in San Francisco, prosecuting parents for the truancy of their children, and as the California attorney general, where she is accused of presiding over a dramatic increase in the incarceration of Black men.
Though Harris clearly has superior skills, there is a limit to the “beauty contest” nature of debates in choosing someone to govern, or even in predicting how they might govern if elected.
“My general take on the debates is that they are not indicative of presidential character. They’re indicative of debate skills,” said Clarence Lusane, chair of the Department of Political Science at Howard University. “So, you know, she’s good at that and clearly Biden is not. What I recommend is that people really look at where are their policies.”
The reason why neither debate skills nor any of the other “silver bullets” which Trump-haters are wishing they find will be effective is because Trump is impervious to the truth. Words are nothing but “fake b.s.” to Trump and his supporters.
The worst things imaginable about him were said before the 2016 election, out of his own mouth! It didn’t matter. These white people who see Trump as the God-sent leader who is fighting to save their tribe from being overrun by the darker hordes are pleased with what he’s doing and, just like in Nazi Germany, may not wake up until they see the mushroom clouds.
Kamala Harris could certainly never be much worse a president than the incumbent, but, just maybe, this guy is just what the United States of America deserves — someone to lead the country straight into the pit of hell. So with more Trump-ism to look forward to in 2020, we may never get to see her presidential skills.
Kamala Harris EMHOFF, is an ANTI-JESUS JEW, and refuses to tell the public that she is. So maybe the Washington Informer will inform Washingtonians, if they want the people to know the TRUTH. She is married to an anti-Jesus Jew, and even refuses to use her Jew name of Emhoff, and she is dominated by her husband-boss, Douglas Emhoff, and a host of other Jews who are tied in with him. AND THEY WILL BE FULLY CONTROLLING Kamala, as they are already doing. While she is making fools out of us blacks, including preachers and church members. And even trying to equate some busing she did in CALIFORNIA, as if it was like the busing done in Alabama, Mississippi, and all of the other Southern, racist states. Which every black should know better, and boldly let her know that what she is supposed to have done, business wise, was no where nearly equal to the busing done in the racist south.
