MUHAMMAD: Next ‘National Emergency’ Cancellation — Election Day

This is a feckless warning. That is, this is a statement that indicates there is an impending danger ahead in this country triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, but there is absolutely nothing which can be done to avoid it. Thanks to the corona virus outbreak, Donald J. Trump is already set to be “president for life,” or for as long as he chooses to remain in office. Trust me. It’s unavoidable.

If, as Election Day — Nov. 3, 2020 — approaches, and The Donald is far behind in popularity polls over the failing economy and his ruinous policies which favor the rich and the white, if Dude is behind, he may postpone or cancel the election, so he’s not embarrassed at the polls. He will stoop to any stunt to remain in office.

Already, two states — Louisiana and Georgia — have postponed their 2020 primary elections, without so much as a murmur of concern. The precedent is already in place.

Trump has said, time and time again, that “his supporters, Bikers for Trump and members of the military,” might not accept his electoral defeat in 2020, and not let him leave office. He has joked that he might run for reelection in 2024, 2028, even 2032! Now that Russian President Vladimir Putin has won support from his congress to extend his presidency indefinitely, you can bet that This Guy is not going to let himself be outdone by The Vlad.

The Stafford Act, passed in 1988 gives the POTUS (president of the United States) broad emergency powers. In the event of disruptions and chaos caused by an overwhelming COVID-19 outbreak here and frustration over the lack of an adequate federal response, the Pres could just make another “national emergency” declaration like he did on Friday the 13th of March, and Election Day would be no more.

There is another scenario, in which the election is held, and Trump loses the popular vote by millions and wins the Electoral College, as he did in 2016 and still became POTUS. But in the event that he fairly loses both the popular vote and the Electoral College, there could be so much protest and outrage over alleged irregularities that the Electoral College vote is rejected, and then the 2020 president would be chosen by the House of Representatives.

Twice in U.S. history — 1800 and 1824 — the House of Representatives chose the president. John Adams was chosen in 1800 and John Quincy Adams was chosen in 1824. In the event of the House choosing the president, each state congressional delegation gets one vote. Despite a commanding lead in the number of Democratic House members over Republican members, more state congressional delegations have GOP majorities than Democrat majorities, hence, Trump wins. One vote per state.

That’s the clean “by the book” scenario for how 45 remains in office. But be sure, if it gets down and dirty, and he decides not to leave the White House if the voters and the Electoral College want him out, there is nothing, and no one who will — or can — do anything to rein him in.

This guy has defied Congress repeatedly, taking money from military appropriations to build his infernal wall on the Mexican border. No one defied him, no one could stop him. He was impeached by the House of Representatives, to little effect. Only one Republican voted to convict him and remove him from office. At least 20 Republicans would have needed to vote yes to remove that man from office who is guilty of far more “crimes and misdemeanors” than were presented in his Senate trial.

For three whole years, the world has watched this man who has six bankruptcies, who paid multiple porn stars to keep silent about their illicit affairs with that married man, whose fake “university” was convicted of fraud and forced to pay millions in penalties and restitution, who confessed to grabbing women “by the p—y,” who warned (and virtually proved his warning to be true) that he could shoot someone in the middle of New York’s Fifth Avenue and not lose a single vote, has for three years flouted the law as well as civilized decorum in pursuit of his narcissistic agenda and nothing has been done to restrain him.

So, get ready for the Trump regime, now ruling, to become the Trump dynasty, by hook or by crook, and if it takes another declaration of “national emergency” to seal the deal, remember This Dude is the author of “The Art of The Deal.”
