Donald J. Trump’s America is a place I don’t want to live in.

What’s worse is that there are estimates that more than 55 million of the 74 million people who voted for the impeached, philandering, inveterate liar who claims that the presidential election was stolen from him are willing to go along with his dangerous, treasonous delusion, and some are willing to kill other people in this country in order to retain him in office.

These Trumpsters insist that because he got more votes than any other sitting president, he should remain in office. The only thing is that the other candidate got even more votes than he did. They say — and this is the troubling part — that the votes from their opponents shouldn’t count. What’s worse, they’re not ashamed to admit it.

Like the fascists in Nazi Germany, these Trumpsters are proud of themselves for holding on to such views. They want the country to be like it used to be when Black folks would step off the sidewalk to permit White folks to pass. This cannot end well.

There are two dueling ideals in this dystopian America. One side played by the rules, even as the other side erected every obstacle imaginable along the way, and they won. But the cheaters are now willing to openly declare that because they are white, and accustomed to everything going their way, they deserve to still win, even though they lost, badly.

Funny thing, though. There are some Republicans in high office who are not Trumpsters, who are not willing to entertain the delusional lie that The Donald has been peddling, really since the day he took office — that he’s destined to rule, that the old rules don’t apply to him, and that there is no power which can check him.

The folks who have stood up and said no to the attempted fascist coup de état, are the judges and local officials who are not auditioning for roles in the Trump fantasy show. More than 50 federal judges — including three appointed by The Donald to the Supreme Court, and dozens appointed by him to lower courts — have laughed him out of court because there is no evidence to support his baseless claims of voter fraud.

These judges, you see, have lifetime appointments, and no reason to hope for future favor from the Trumpsters. Federal elected officials — more than 125 in Congress, and a dozen in the Senate, who do need the Trump vote to stay in office — who are trying to outdo one another in dancing to The Donald’s discordant tune, are spineless and unwilling to tell the truth, lest they fall from favor.

This is how Germany and Italy slipped into fascism before World War II. This is how the United States almost slipped into total fascism when Reconstruction was torn down and hateful white power rule over the freed slaves was reestablished. The fascist takeover only involved the Southern, former Confederate states, so the Northern Union states went along with the lawless suppression of Black folks.

Now, Confederatism has spread to every corner of White America. A majority of white folks in fact voted for The Donald. In their rallies, they proudly display both Confederate flags and United States flags. Why would they display the flag of the losing side in the country’s bloodiest war, alongside the American flag? Why would they erect statues and name streets, schools, even military bases after these traitors? Because in the minds of white folks, the Rebel cause didn’t really lose.

So it is today. The Donald, and his millions of followers declare, and they seem to fervently believe, that the 81 million people who voted for his opponent, are simply illegitimate. They don’t count.

The ballots cast against The Donald, even though they elected these same dissenting Repugnikkkans, are invalid they claim. They say this right before our eyes. You can’t make this stuff up.

The saddest part about it all, is that Black people, who prop this system up and make up more than a third of the military forces, are pacified because a new Black “first” was announced: a first to get a Ph.D. in some obscure scientific discipline; a first to win a prize in some stuffy, white, cultural category.

Black people keep mistakenly thinking that this will be the generation — despite indisputable evidence that just the opposite is taking place — this will be the generation which will reform these hateful white people, and after 400-some-odd years, white folks will treat us better.

That’s a shame. I’m sick of being sick of white people who have no shame when it comes to their white agenda and their hatred of Black people.

In fact, I’m nauseated by them.
