Heed my warning.
If the twice-impeached, one-term former president gets another shot from the top of the U.S. government hierarchy, he won’t miss the heart of U.S. democracy next time. He will shoot this country’s 233-year-old experiment in government of, by and for the people dead. Dead as a doorknob.
The Donald is not playing around, nor are his acolytes. They are struggling mightily to hold onto and/or regain power — White Power — by any means necessary. And if they manage to get a toehold of power again, it’s lights out for representative government of, by and for the people. Trust me.
Had it not been for something mysterious within former Vice President Mike Pence, who would not do the evil bidding of The Trumpster on Jan. 6, people in this country would be wrestling with how to get that fiend out of the White House, right up to this very minute! He said it once, “who can challenge the power of the president?”
Believe it. Within 10 days of his getting his hands on the reins of power the next time, there will be martial law and bedlam all around. Armed vigilantes from the Proud Boys, the Boogaloo Boys, the Oath Keepers, the Three Percenters, QAnon will be patrolling the streets looking to shoot on sight Black protesters, and all the white, Latino and other sympathizers they may have.
Their hatred is now being expressed out in the open. Meanwhile, those still invested in the myth of the “liberal democracy,” who tell us over and over — after each and every hateful demonstration, either by vicious cops or courts, or even by civilians, they tell us “This is not who we are” — those folks won’t have a clue as to what must be done.
All the covers on the white hate are being pulled back. They are now exposed, naked, like sex perverts sprawled on a rock. This is who white Americans are! They are haters and tormentors of the less advantaged. They are robbers and thieves. They stole this continent from the Native People, and then built it into a prosperous nation with the stolen labor of kidnapped Africans, with never so much as a word of gratitude.
Look at retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, who twice pleaded guilty to charges of lying and foreign lobbying and then was pardoned by the Grifter-in-chief. Flynn appeared recently at a conference where he said there’s no reason why what happened in Myanmar — a violent coup by the country’s military — shouldn’t happen in this country. “No reason, I mean, it should happen here. No reason. That’s right,” Flynn responded to a questioner, who was identified as a former U.S. Marine, according to published reports. The audience cheered.
This is not an isolated idea. Flynn is the same person who, along with his attorney Sidney Powell, was in the Oval Office in December suggesting that The Donald invoke martial law to nullify Joe Biden’s election victory, according to CNN’s reporting at the time. And now, Flynn’s younger brother is commander of U.S. Pacific troops.
They want absolute power again, and they’ll steal or kill to get it. Trust me.
Biden warned that U.S. democracy is in danger. “Democracy itself is in peril, here at home and around the world,” Biden said in a Memorial Day speech at Arlington National Cemetery. “What we do now — what we do now, how we honor the memory of the fallen will determine whether or not democracy will long endure,” he said. If these Trumpistas get anywhere near the levers of power again, what we now know as representative government won’t last two weeks. It will be like they will have taken the country to hell on a rocket.
In mid-May, a group of 124 retired admirals and generals — calling themselves “Flag Officers 4 America” — published an open letter that questioned the legitimacy of the presidential election and criticized President Biden and the Democratic Party, according to The Washington Post. Listen to me. These white folks are dead serious.
Gun sales have skyrocketed. In fact, the sale of guns has dwarfed the sale of toilet paper in the earliest stages of the pandemic. They’ve sold so many guns — mostly to white folks — until ammunition is now in short supply.
But their guns and their evil intentions will not deliver them the victory they desire, not if their intended victims wake up (Today!) and work at the voting booths like they’re trying to get their favorite candidate the victory on “American Idol” — while voting is still legal, that is.
Yes, they have instituted some restrictions on voting, but they are equally hard on white folks, so before they get back into power and start ruling by fiat, all the so-called “woke” folks need to really wake up and get busy, before it’s too late.
