Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States (POTUS), has so dishonored the office he holds and himself in just five months of his assigned 48 months that I am loathe to call him “president.”

If this republic rules with the “consent of the governed,” then I withdraw my consent (as much as I can) to refer to that person as “president.” I will also endeavor to not call his name, unless I’m playing bid whist. As much as is journalistically practical, I’ll refer to him as “45,” as in 45th president.

He’s now overseas on his first mission as POTUS. His first stop was the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudis are owed much: for being faithful custodians of Islam’s holiest sites; for preserving Arabic — the language of the Holy Quran, just as it was recited to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself 1,500 years ago — as a living language. The Saudi population is 31 million, 8 million of whom are foreign nationals who do all the labor, like indentured slaves.

Theirs is a closed, very conservative society with nothing resembling a government that answers to its people. They are the U.S. friends and showered 45 with the country’s highest honor — the gold “Collar of Aziz” — on his arrival.

Iran, on the other hand, has a population of 79 million, is very sophisticated and modern by comparison, with a functioning “democracy” which is tightly controlled by its religious elite. Iran is in fact a theocracy which took power in the 1979 revolution deposing the Shah of Iran who was set on his Peacock Throne in a 1953 U.S.-backed coup. At that time, Saudi Arabia was like Alaska during its gold rush, a dusty, abandoned frontier.

Iran has a strong, battle proven military which survived several years of war, fighting U.S.-armed and -backed Iraqis, suffering more than 1 million Iranian casualties. This weekend Iranians voted in overwhelming numbers, choosing to re-elect the “moderate” President Rouhani, who wants better relations with the West, as do the 63 percent of the voters who chose him. Trump, the GOP, the Israelis don’t want to hear any parts of it.

So, 45 was in Saudia with his daughter and son-in-law making private deals on the side, while he collects what I call the substantial “refund” to this country for all the U.S. oil purchases from The Gulf kingdom.

The rebate is in the form of a $110 billion “arms deal,” which means an immediate transfer of those funds to purchase inferior versions of U.S. weapons that are only powerful enough to kill any uppity Arabs who might rise up and want better lives, along with side purchases from the Trump empire and a $100 million donation to a Trump charity. The arms purchased are certainly not as lethal as the U.S. versions, or even as the Israeli versions, some of which are licensed for manufacture in the Jewish state.

The $110 billion is a new “deal” brokered by son-in-law Jared Kushner, as part of the 10-year $350 billion Saudi agreement to continue to purchase inferior U.S. arms. Remember those fake AWACS surveillance aircraft the Saudis were sold several years ago, only without the best radar the aircraft were designed for?

Then 45 went to apartheid Israel (population 8 million, about equal to the state of Maryland) with a bag full of goodies, including $45 billion in military and foreign aid and billions more in “loans,” which are always forgiven when payback time rolls around.

Both Saudi Arabia (population 31 million minus 8 million semi-slaves) and Israel (population 8 million) are sworn enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran (population 79 million), hence the isolation of Tehran.

In his speech to 50 or so leaders from the Islamic world, 45 said, join with us all you “good Muslims” to help defeat the “bad Muslims” (we’ll tell you who’s who). Then after his series of bi-lateral meetings with several Arab/Muslim presidents, to get them in line with the U.S. policy, he’s telling the Palestinians to cut a peace “deal” with the Israelis by surrendering all their aspirations for freedom, and just doing what the nice Israelis — the U.S. friends — say to do.

In other words, capitulate. That’s because the nice Israelis are not going to make one single concession to any Arab demands. The Israelis are committed to the Zionist dream of “Ersatz Israel,” “Greater Israel,” Biblical Israel which extends from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

The only obstacle standing in the way of this massive, 60-year land grab, is those Palestinians who had been living there for thousands of years when the Zionists waged war and seized their first sliver of land there in 1948.

In 45-land, all the Arab countries must become submissive so they can continue to live in the luxury to which they have become accustomed, thanks to an insatiable appetite for oil in the West and the U.S. military’s protective umbrella. Almost all of the belligerent enemies of Israel and the 1979 Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty — Iraq, Libya, and Syria — have been destroyed, only Iran stands in open hostility to the Zionist entity’s treaty with Egypt.

Tiny Israel — sometimes thought of as the “tail” compared to the huge (population 300 million) United States, the “dog” — is the behind-the-scenes puppeteer in this scenario and thus the hands-down winner in 45’s current diplomatic adventure.

As has been said about Israel’s dominant influence on the U.S. political discourse since the 1980s, the tail is once again wagging the dog.

It’s simple.
