Chaos erupted within the Trump administration Thursday after newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci launched into a vulgar rant against White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.
According to The New Yorker, Scaramucci called Priebus โa fโโg paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiacโ in an interview with a reporter regarding a leak.
The millionaire investor asked New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza how he learned about a dinner he had Wednesday at the White House with the president, Fox News host Sean Hannity and former Fox News exec Bill Shine, and when he refused to divulge his source, Scaramucci said heโd fire the White House communications staff.
โTheyโll all be fired by me,โ he reportedly said of the staff. โI fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people Iโll fire tomorrow. Iโll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus โ if you want to leak something โ heโll be asked to resign very shortly.โ
Scaramucci went on to disparage Steve Bannon, lewdly accusing the chief Trump strategist of self-aggrandizing in the profanity-laden tirade, which was published Thursday in the New Yorker story.
For his part, Scaramucci didnโt back off the comments, though he expressed regret about his choice of words.
โI sometimes use colorful language. I will refrain in this arena but not give up the passionate fight for @realDonaldTrumpโs agenda,โ he tweeted Thursday. โI made a mistake in trusting in a reporter. It wonโt happen again.โ
