NEW YORK (USA Today) — Amazon’s answer to Siri, Cortana and Google is about to have her coming-home party.
I’m speaking of Alexa, the voice inside Amazon Echo. Echo is a 9¼-inch-tall cylindrical Bluetooth speaker that resembles a container for a small, rolled-up poster.
Until now, Echo was available on an invitation-only basis. Starting Tuesday, any would-be customer can preorder Echo; the product starts shipping July 14.
Thanks to Alexa’s persona, Echo isn’t your ordinary Bluetooth speaker.
