Nolan Wells (center) stands with his parents Elmore and Christine Wonsley. Questions about Wells' disappearance and death on Horn Island remain unanswered nearly a month after he was found dead off Mississippi's Gulf Coast. (Courtesy of Christine Wonsley via Instagram)

All these opinions of what happened to Nolan [Wells] and some of them are right and some are wrong as any case but one thing is definitely right: he is dead. He was somebodyโ€™s child and deserves justice if he was murdered and if it was an accident then why didnโ€™t they take his body to land and notify emergency personnel and his parents? They made themselves suspects from the beginning.

No Need for Guard in D.C.

Itโ€™s not just costs. It is what is appropriate use of the National Guard. Administering Narcan, providing emergency medical care, law enforcement, assisting lost children โ€“ these are not tasks for troops. Washington, D.C., residents pay taxes that are spent (when Congress allows us) to hire police, EMTs, drug rehab workers etc. If we need more, letโ€™s spend a fraction of that money to add more. We donโ€™t need to normalize troops in the street. Troops in the street says North Korea, not freedom to me.
