On Wednesday, Universal Pictures released the first official photo of the cast for the upcoming biopic “Straight Outta Compton” about the iconic gangsta rap group N.W.A.

The movie, which is named after their 1988 debut album and hit song, has been in development for years and now has a release date of August 14, 2015. Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, producers of the film and original members of the group, tweeted the photo Wednesday.

“Finally found the cast for the NWA movie. Me, Gary Gray, Dre w/ Cube, Eazy & Dre #StraightOuttaCompton coming 8/14/15”

Dr. Dre also posted the photo, simply with the caption, “8/14/15 #StraightOuttaCompton.”

F. Gary Gray, who directed “Friday,” “Set It Off,” and “The Italian Job,” will be the director and the roles of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E have been cast.

O’Shea Jackson Jr, Ice Cube’s son, is slated to play his dad, who left the group in 1989 and went on to have an impressive solo career and subsequent business ventures in TV and film. Jason Mitchell will play role of Eazy-E. Corey Hawkins, who recently had a role in “Iron Man 3”, will play Dr Dre. (The roles of MC Ren and DJ Yella have not yet been cast.)

In addition to Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, Matt Alvarez and Tomica Woods-Wright, Eazy-E’s widow, are producers for the film.
