Prince George’s County is hosting a series of free flu shot clinics, stressing the importance of getting inoculated amid the coronavirus vaccine culture wars holding much of the country’s attention.

The flu shots are free to residents 6 months old and older, WTOP reported. Parents or legal guardians must accompany people younger than 18.

“Don’t forget about it because the flu is not going anywhere,” said Diane Young, an associate director with the Prince George’s County Department of Health, WTOP reported. “You don’t even have to make an appointment. You can walk up whenever we are having them.”

The first clinic was held Saturday at the Southern Area Aquatics and Recreation Complex in Brandywine. The next is scheduled for Oct. 7 at the Springhill Lake Recreation Center in Greenbelt from 1-7 p.m. On Oct. 9, a clinic will be held at the Spirit of Faith Christian Center in Oxon Hill from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
