Prince William County will distribute the coronavirus vaccine to 2,400 teachers and school staffers this weekend during two mass-vaccination events in the county.

Virginia’s second-largest school district said it will administer the doses Saturday and Sunday at Unity Reed High School in Manassas, with Novant Health UVA Health System providing the doses, WTOP reported.

Those eligible were emailed invitations for this weekend, WTOP reported. The school system plans to hold similar events throughout next month.

The weekend events will come days after the Inova health system indefinitely suspended first-dose vaccine appointments because of limited supply. The canceled appointments included most of the Prince William school system’s nearly 11,000 teachers and staffers, WTOP reported.

As of Wednesday, the Prince William Health District said it has administered roughly 20,000 vaccine doses to county residents, with more than 2,700 people fully vaccinated.
