The article on potential incarceration from the youth curfew is critically important, eye-opening, and should be widely shared. Most DC residents are unaware of the collateral problems associated with the incarceration of youth for curfew violations. The Mayor & the DC Council should provide better options that don’t introduce Black youth into the criminal justice system for a curfew violation. The current system is extremely problematic and short-sighted.
