Recycling Black Dollars forum kicks off the new year with Dr. Jewel Diamond Taylor

On Tuesday, January 8, Recycling Black Dollars (RBD) kicked off its monthly networking forum for local Black businesses. Renowned and multi-talented life-coach and author, Dr. Jewel Diamond Taylor was the guest speaker and shared her key to success.

“The main thing is to keep the main thing—the main thing,” said Taylor. That was her “main” point in this simple yet powerful meeting of the RBD. Taylor addressed that Black businesses need to focus on one goal and highlight that gift.

“What’s your vision this year?” asked Taylor. “What’s the main thing you need to accomplish this year?”

The message at this meeting was clear—get a vision. Many in attendance listened as Taylor broke down the simple keys to success and how to build wealth by setting goals.

“I saw myself living in my zone where I feel so alive,” said Taylor. “When have you been in that zone?

“You may not be in that zone all the time but if your vision is not clear, you’ll never be in that zone.”

Jacque Bee, co-executive director of RBD led the meeting and continues to credit the RBD as a neighborhood commodity that empowers the community.

“Our mission is to further… support… [and] keep awareness of Black businesses in the public eye,” said Bee.

“I want people to know we are here for them, we are a membership organization and we do need their support to keep our doors open.”

Recycling Black (RBD) is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit Corporation founded in 1988 by Muhammad A. Nassardeen. The RBD serves as a positive way to keep African American businesses in circulation and inform the community about the opportunities for entrepreneurs and the working class.
