What a difference a year makes.
Riley Cooper, who last year became the face of bigotry in football, has agreed to a new five-year contract with the Eagles. The new deal for the wide receiver, who was eligible to become a free agent next month, is reportedly worth $25 million.
Cooper, who was caught on tape shouting โI will fight every nโโ here,โ at a Kenny Chesney concert last summer in the City of Brotherly Love, rebounded from the scandal to have the best season of his four-year NFL career. His breakout season included 47 receptions, 835 receiving yards and eight touchdowns (all career bests) for the NFC East champion Eagles.
โLove being in Philly,โ Cooper, 26, tweeted Thursday morning. โProud to be an Eagle.โ
Cooper called his actions โinexcusableโ last August after the video went viral and the Eagles shipped the University of Florida product off to counseling.
