The final numbers aren’t due to be filed with the Federal Election Commission until Aug. 20, but it’s looking like Republican Mitt Romney has once again bested President Obama in monthly fundraising. With a haul of more than $101.3 million for July, Romney and the Republican National Committee have topped $100 million for the second consecutive month. Obama’s re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee raised $75 million. Team Romney also outraised Obama in May and June.
Romney’s campaign said that 94.13 percent of the July donations were $250 or less and 600,627 of the contributions were under $250. According to Romney Victory National Finance chairman Spencer Zwick, Democrats and Independents also helped fill the campaign coffers.
