Safeway announced Wednesday that is closing all D.C. locations until Thursday morning amid unrest on Capitol Hill as demonstrators protest Congress’ count of Electoral College votes.

“Safeway stores in Washington DC closed at 4 pm today,” Albertsons Companies Mid-Atlantic Division, the supermarket chain’s parent company, said in a statement. “At this time, we plan to reopen at 7 am tomorrow. We appreciate everyone’s understanding.”

Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered a citywide curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday, ordering all but essential workers off the streets.
