The Global Scholars Foundation recently held its second annual charity golf tournament, which was deemed a success by all involved parties.

The Oct. 26 event, held at the Country Club at Woodmore in Mitchellvile, Maryland, attracted 40 golfers, including business and government leaders, according to H Street Community Development Corporation, one of the sponsors.

George “Ty” Simpson, president of Spectrum Management, served as the event’s title sponsor.

“I was willing to serve on the GSF Board because of its mission to train and expose inner-city youth to global opportunities,” Simpson, a University of D.C. alumnus, said in a statement. “GSF breaks down the barriers and mindsets that limit us by exposing students to the wider world early in life.”

Other 2021 sponsors included e-StudyBible.com, Posinelli Law Firm and F.S. Taylor Associates.

The inaugural tournament took place in 2019 with the Anthony Bolling Group serving as the title sponsor.
