Doctors for Arizona Sen. John McCain revealed in a statement on Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer associated with a blood clot that was recently removed.
The statement goes on to state that McCain, 80, and his family are reviewing further treatment, including a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.
McCain, who has been recovering at his Arizona home, is doing amazingly well and his underlying health is excellent, according to the statement.
