Spanish police took in custody a man for allegedly infecting 22 people with the coronavirus.
Police said the unnamed man infected eight people directly and 14 indirectly at his job and gym in Manacor, the Nexstar Media Wire reported.
The man reportedly told colleagues, “I’m going to give you all the coronavirus,” while lowering his face mask and coughing, according to the police report.
Agents started investigating the man at the end of January after learning of an outbreak at a “well-known establishment” in Manacor, Nexstar reported. The police said the man took a PCR test, for which he tested positive.
Despite the positive test, he disobeyed his boss’s orders and continued coming to work and going to the gym, the police said.
When arrested, the man had a temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, authorities said, Nexstar reported.
None of the infected people have been hospitalized. Police said the man faces a charge of “crime of injuries.”
