LOS ANGELES (USA Today)—He’s a comedian, actor, writer, producer, banjo-player and fine-art collector. Now Steve Martin is going to collect another major film award for lifetime achievement.

Martin will get the 2015 American Film Institute Life Achievement award, becoming the 43rd recipient and only the second mainly comic performer to receive AFI’s highest film-career honor. Mel Brooks won in 2013.
