Insomnia and other sleep disorders could increase the risk of strokes, according to a new report.

According to a new research conducted by a Taiwan-based team of researchers from the Department of Medical Research at Chi-Mei Medical Center and Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science, those people who are affected with insomnia have a considerably higher risk of strokes.

The research published in the Stroke, a journal of the American Heart Association, mentioned that the study included the analysis of medical records of about 21,000 people affected with insomnia and 64,000 people who werenโ€™t affected with the sleeping disorder.
