Peace DC’s Path Marred With Questions About Pretrial Detention

The D.C. Council is considering legislation to expand pretrial detention, despite concerns from a grandmother who’s worried about her grandson’s safety in the D.C. Department of Corrections and a report from the Office of the D.C. Auditor showing that the rate of in-custody deaths at DOC’s Central Detention Facility is over 3.5 times the national average.
