A Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officer involved in a fatal shooting in northwest Washington, D.C., on Jan. 24 was trained in crisis intervention and auxiliary crisis negotiation, but was denied access to a media briefing and threatened with arrest for asking questions about the situation.
