THE RELIGION CORNER: Negative Thoughts Grow Quickly, Like Weeds

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Albert Einstein once said, “Do I live in a friendly environment or a hostile universe? Do people hate each other, or do they love each other?” Life for you will be exactly the way you see it. It is all in how you see the world.

It is scientific, and has been proven. Let’s look at this example: Say you’ve dropped your car keys in your house, but the lights are off inside. You can’t see a thing, so you decide to go outside and look for your keys under the light.

Someone comes along to help, asking where you dropped the keys. And your response, that you dropped them inside the house — that’s crazy. If you dropped the keys in the house, why would you look for them outside?

It’s the same thing we would do when our solution to life’s problems is on the inside of us, yet we look for our solution from outside sources, such as co-workers, friends, family, etc. Romans 10:17 says “faith comes by hearing the word of God.” The subconscious mind resembles a fertile garden spot, in which weeds will grow in abundance if the seeds of more desirable crops are not sown.

Self-suggestion is the way in which we can control our subconscious mind concerning thoughts of a creative nature or, by neglect, allow thoughts of a destructive nature to find their way into this rich garden of the mind. Begin to take some steps. Now that you understand how weeds will grow in abundance in your mind if the seeds of more desirable crops are not sown, keep reading this article to learn how to increase your faith. I promise you, it works!

Corinthians 5:7 says, “for we walk by faith, not by sight.” Faith cannot be reasoned out or understood without our spiritual senses. When we rely on our five senses to make sense of faith, we will be misled because the five senses are in the natural realm, not the spiritual. It is all in how we look at things!

Mark 11:23 says, “for verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Weeds cannot and will not grow, when we say what we need to say to ourselves, and in a deliberate fashion. Go back and read this paragraph again and again so that you can understand this point clearly.

From this verse it is seen that not only is faith a product of the heart, but it is released by speaking it forth with the mouth. All of these scriptures reminds us that the weeds of negativity will grow in abundance, if the seeds of more desirable crops are not sown. Instead of seeing the glass half-empty, just begin to say it is half-full. You then begin a more positive and favorable line of positive thinking.

Change the way you look at your dreams, and those dreams you’re looking at will change. Your dream will begin to become a reality, no matter what it is you have decided to do.

Pull the weeds from our minds so that our positive thoughts will have room to grow!
