People who have been completely immunized against the coronavirus don’t need to continue getting tested unless symptoms of the virus emerge, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Friday.
“In fact, I wouldn’t say that that’s something you should do,” Fauci, President Biden’s chief medical adviser, said on the “CBS This Morning,” CNN reported. “If you’ve been fully vaccinated with two doses of the mRNA or one dose of the J&J [Johnson & Johnson] I would not be considering, unless you develop symptoms that were suggestive, but not if you’re without symptoms.”
As of Friday, the U.S. has administered roughly 118 million of its 154 million available vaccine doses, with roughly 42 million Americans fully vaccinated.
