People who have been completely immunized against the coronavirus donโt need to continue getting tested unless symptoms of the virus emerge, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Friday.
โIn fact, I wouldnโt say that thatโs something you should do,โ Fauci, President Bidenโs chief medical adviser, said on the โCBS This Morning,โ CNN reported. โIf youโve been fully vaccinated with two doses of the mRNA or one dose of the J&J [Johnson & Johnson] I would not be considering, unless you develop symptoms that were suggestive, but not if youโre without symptoms.โ
As of Friday, the U.S. has administered roughly 118 million of its 154 million available vaccine doses, with roughly 42 million Americans fully vaccinated.
