President Donald Trump’s attorneys are advising him against meeting with special counsel Robert Mueller regarding the investigation into Russian election interference, though the president himself has expressed a willingness to hold the sit-down.

The attorneys’ main concern is that Trump will say something false and end up perjuring himself.

Although the president is expected to decide soon if he will meet with Mueller, backing down could lead to a subpoena and a Supreme Court fight.

Trump said the allegations of collusion between Russia and his campaign during the 2016 U.S. presidential election are baseless.
