President Donald Trump is begging his MAGA supporters to rescue Republican control of Congress, warning that Democrats are preparing to destroy his political future as new allegations involving Jeffrey Epstein, millions in oil profits, and the prospect of congressional investigations threaten to make the Nov. 3 midterm elections a reckoning for his second administration.

“Right now the Democrats smell blood,” Trump warned in a new fundraising email that accused supporters of abandoning his movement. Another solicitation pleaded, “I need you now more than ever before,” before declaring that retaining the Republican majority had never been more important.

The increasingly desperate language of Trump’s fundraising operation accompanies polling and election forecasts suggesting Democrats could capture the House, where control of investigative committees would give them subpoena power to examine the president’s finances, his administration’s handling of the Epstein files and his extraordinary use of federal authority in Washington.

Trump’s appeals have become intensely personal, with messages questioning supporters’ loyalty, invoking his impeachments and investigations, and portraying Democratic victories as a threat to everything his movement has accomplished. One October 5 email demanded to know why a recipient had not renewed support, asking, “Is that true?”

Harvard University’s election forecasting project has assessed the likelihood of Democratic gains in Congress, including the possibility that Republicans could lose their House majority. The forecasts remain uncertain, but Democrats need only a net gain of a few seats to seize control of committees that could summon administration officials, demand financial records, and investigate presidential conduct.

On Monday, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee released a 53-page report alleging that Trump was involved in Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women in the 1990s and accusing his Justice Department of suppressing evidence that could implicate the president.

Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the committee’s ranking Democrat, said accounts involving 11 women raised disturbing questions about Trump’s relationship with the convicted sex offender, including allegations from five women who accused Trump of rape or sexual assault while Epstein was present.

“Donald Trump says he knew Jeffrey Epstein ‘just like everybody in Palm Beach knew him.’ Not exactly,” Raskin said. “Evidence involving 11 women tells a completely different and far more damning story about their relationship and the abuse of young women and girls that took place in their network.”

The committee’s report draws on FBI records, interviews with women who described encounters with Trump and Epstein, and documents released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Investigators also examined the role of former Trump administration official Paolo Zampolli and the modeling industry connections that brought young women into men’s social circles.

One woman, former beauty pageant contestant Beatrice Keul, alleged that Trump raped her at New York’s Plaza Hotel in November 1993 and then told her to stay silent. Other accounts describe alleged sexual assaults or attempts by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to arrange encounters with Trump.

The report accuses Attorney General Todd Blanche of preventing Maxwell from discussing a survivor whose account implicated Trump during a prison interview. Democrats are demanding an independent special counsel, the release of additional records, and cooperation with prosecutors investigating Epstein’s associates.

White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis, in an interview with Spectrum News, rejected the allegations, calling the Democratic report a politically motivated effort to damage Trump, and said the president had expelled Epstein from Mar-a-Lago. Trump has repeatedly denied involvement in Epstein’s crimes or knowledge of his abuse of underage girls.

“None of these allegations are true,” Bis told Spectrum News.

Raskin said the Epstein investigation demands an independent examination, regardless of the president’s political standing, and insisted that congressional investigators obtain the records needed to determine whether additional crimes were committed or concealed.

“The women who survived Epstein deserve to be heard, Congress must have the complete files required by law, and an independent special counsel must investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators and the DOJ’s cover-up and ensure that state and foreign prosecutors have the evidence they need to pursue justice,” Raskin said.

Oil Profits While Americans Pay More

The president’s financial disclosures also have sparked another controversy as the war with Iran drives gasoline prices higher and delivers enormous gains to energy companies whose shares Trump owns.

An Oct. 26 report released by Democrats on the congressional Joint Economic Committee found that Trump’s oil and gas holdings had risen to between $22.5 million and $81.6 million, up from $12.6 million to $46 million at the end of 2025. His energy stocks gained an average of 43%, while financial disclosures showed purchases totaling between $4.7 million and $17.5 million during the war.

The White House said independent financial managers control Trump’s investment portfolio and denied any conflict of interest.

Reportedly, the national average gasoline price rose from $2.87 per gallon in early February to $4.29, while diesel jumped from $3.68 to $6.28. Democrats estimate that American families have spent an additional $856 on gasoline since the fighting began.

“Trump’s Iran War has forced Americans to pay much more at the pump while Big Oil rakes in profits and the president’s own stock wealth in the oil and gas industry continues to balloon,” Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), the committee’s ranking member, said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this is nothing new from this administration and only reinforces that the president puts his own financial interests above the American people.”
