Two Virginia Children Die of COVID in 3 Days

A second child in eastern Virginia has died from COVID-19 this week.

The unidentified child died Wednesday, two days after 10-year-old Teresa Sperry died at a hospital in Hampton Roads, The Associated Press reported.

Sperry’s parents told The Virginian Pilot their child would walk sick classmates to the clinic at her elementary school.

The two deaths increase the number of children dying from the coronavirus to 13, with 12 of the juvenile deaths occurring this year even though the pandemic began in 2020.

More than 1,000 children in Virginia have been hospitalized with the coronavirus, AP reported.
