U.S. Adds 110K New Coronavirus Cases on Thanksgiving

The United States recorded 110,611 new coronavirus cases on Thanksgiving Day — the 24th consecutive day that toll has reached six figures as the country continues to outpace the rest of the world amid the worsening pandemic.

The U.S. also had 1,232 virus-related deaths Thursday, according to a Johns Hopkins University tracker.

The numbers are particularly alarming because 20 states did not give any data for the day, CNN reported.

As of Friday, the country has roughly 12.9 million coronavirus cases and 264,000 deaths since the outset of the pandemic — both tops globally — according to the Johns Hopkins tracker.
