The number of newly reported coronavirus cases, hospitalizations and deaths in the U.S. will likely decline over the next four weeks, according to ensemble forecasts by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC forecast released Wednesday estimates that the U.S. coronavirus death toll will be between 596,000 to 606,000 by June 19, down from a May 19 projection that country would reach 604,000 deaths by June 12, CNN reported.

As of Friday, the U.S. has roughly 33.2 million coronavirus cases and 593,000 virus-related deaths, both tops globally, according to a Johns Hopkins University tracker.

Currently, 40% of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to CDC data.
