Close to 120 college undergraduates from across the US attended the 13th annual United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Student Leadership Conference (SLC) held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville, Maryland from May 31 to June 2.
Students participated in intense training simulation with coaching from high-level business and nonprofit professionals. Workshops were held to equip students with skills needed to become successful in internships. The United Negro College Fund’s SLC conference held in partnership with Wells Fargo with the theme, “We Got the Keys: Unlocking the Leader Within,” is part of a yearlong effort to recruit and professionally develop diverse talent for valuable career experiences, according to Taliah Givens, senior director, student professional development programs.
