Virginia Sees 1K Daily Coronavirus Cases for 3 Straight Weeks

Virginia again reported more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases Wednesday, continuing a daily run that now has stretched to nearly a month.

The state health department logged 1,157 cases the previous day, Richmond’s WRIC-TV (Channel 8) reported. Virginia now has had more than 1,000 new cases each day for the past three weeks.

The state’s positivity rate has steadied at 5.7 percent, but the transmission rate in Northern Virginia has risen over recent weeks.

As of Wednesday, Virginia has roughly 186,000 coronavirus case and 3,700 virus-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.
