Virginia Sees Nearly 1,000 New Coronavirus Cases in One Day

Virginia’s number of confirmed coronavirus cases jumped by nearly 1,000 Friday, according to state health department statistics.
The department logged 89,888 cases — 984 more than Thursday’s figure of 88,904, Roanoke’s WSLS-TV reported.
The state’s death toll from the novel coronavirus now stands at 2,174, while roughly 7,900 people are hospitalized.
Virginia saw about 7,500 new cases over the past seven days — more than twice the number of reported cases during the week of June 19, InsideNova reported.
