W Hotels and will.i.am Design Bedsheets Out of Coke Bottles

(USA Today) – W Hotels are changing the sheets with the help of will.i.am.

The singer, songwriter and entrepreneur has partnered with W Hotels and Coca Cola to design bedsheets that are made from recycled plastic bottles as part of the EKOCYCLE program.

The EKOCYCLE-branded sheets will roll out into W Hotels in North America this year. Next year, they will become the norm at all 46 W Hotels worldwide.

The sheets are made with rPet, polyester partially comprised of recycled plastic. Each king-size sheet set uses about 31 recycled 20 oz. plastic bottles. That is equivalent to 268,000 bottles across all W Hotel beds in North America.
