Walmart to Stop Sale of Handgun Ammunition

Walmart will discontinue the sale of ammunition used in high-capacity magazines and military-style weapons, according to a statement issued Tuesday by the retail giant.
The stores have also asked that customers no longer carry firearms in stores — even in states where it is permitted.
The mandate comes on the heels of three mass shootings last month, including one at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, in which 22 people were killed.
Walmart also said it will stop selling short-barrel rifle ammunition, such as the .223 and 5.56 caliber, which can be used in high-capacity magazines and military-style weapons.
