The Washington Mystics will have 40 games broadcast on Monumental Sports Network during the 2025 WNBA season, the team announced Thursday.
The broadcast schedule includes 38 regular season games and two preseason contests. Monumental will air preseason games on May 3 at Indiana and May 7 against Atlanta, with the first regular season broadcast set for Sunday, May 18, at 1 p.m. ET against the Connecticut Sun. Remaining games will be shown nationally on ION Television.
The Mystics experienced significant viewership growth last season, with linear viewership for live games up 139% compared to 2023 within the D.C. market. Streaming viewership also saw a major increase, with unique streaming viewers up 90% from the previous year.
“Mystics Courtside,” a magazine-style show featuring behind-the-scenes moments and off-court stories, will return in May with eight episodes planned for the 2025 season. The network will continue offering 30-minute pregame and postgame shows for each regular season game. In 2023, the Mystics became the first WNBA team to feature dedicated pre- and postgame shows for every regional broadcast, with “Mystics Pregame Live” winning a Capital Emmy Award in June 2024.
“After record-breaking viewership in 2024, we are thrilled to have 40 Mystics games on our network this season,” said Zach Leonsis, President of Media & New Enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “We are dedicated to delivering a comprehensive and engaging viewing experience for our incredible fans and are looking forward to a productive year on the court under the team’s new leadership.”
The broadcast team will feature University of Maryland Hall of Famer Christy Winters-Scott returning for her 16th season as color analyst, alongside play-by-play announcer Meghan McPeak, who enters her seventh season. Ariana Prather will return as sideline reporter after missing last season due to the birth of her child.
Wes Hall will host the pre- and postgame shows, with former WNBA standouts Chasity Melvin and Marissa Coleman serving as primary analysts. MNMT basketball analyst Jimmy Patsos will make regular appearances. Demand for these shows surged in 2024, with pregame viewership up 235% and postgame viewership up 122% year-over-year.
Fans within the network’s coverage area, which stretches from Delaware to Richmond, can watch games through their pay TV subscription, on monumentalplus.com, or by downloading the Monumental+ app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV using an eligible TV Everywhere login.
Viewers without a TV provider can purchase an annual direct-to-consumer membership for $199.99 per year or opt for monthly memberships at $19.99 per month, which provide access to all live games, original programming, and app-exclusive features.
Monumental Sports Network is also the exclusive local television rights holder for the NHL’s Washington Capitals, NBA’s Washington Wizards, and NBA G League’s Capital City Go-Go. The network plans to air nearly 500 total games during the 2024-25 season.
