The White House will hold Halloween festivities Sunday, but not without coronavirus safeguards in place.

Guests older than 2 will be required to wear face masks. Social distancing measures will be enforced, while White House staffers will wear gloves to distribute candy.

First lady Melania Trumpโ€™s office said hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event and each White House department will utilize a no-touch approach in their area when distributing their product.

The White House is hosting the event despite a coronavirus outbreak earlier this month among the Trump administration and campaign, including President Trump himself as well as the first lady and their 14-year-old son Barron.

As of Friday, the U.S. has approximately 8.4 million coronavirus cases and 223,000 related deaths โ€” both tops globally โ€” according to a Johns Hopkins University tracker.
