(NJ.com) – Microsoft Word got its start as a word-processing program, but many people now use it to create flowcharts, invitations and posters.

Excel is intended for producing spreadsheets, but it’s also a popular way to create calendars and timelines.

And PowerPoint is synonymous with business presentations, but plenty of PowerPoint fans use it for design, making everything from comic books to flyers.

Word, PowerPoint and Excel are often derided for being bloated with features, but there’s certainly one thing that’s special about them: Everyone uses them, and they use them for everything.
