Former Washington Wizards stars John Wall and Brendan Haywood are joining Monumental Sports Network’s broadcast team for the 2025-2026 NBA season, the network announced Thursday.

Wall, a five-time NBA All-Star and one of the most iconic players in franchise history, will serve as a studio analyst on Wizards Pregame Live and Wizards Postgame Live. Haywood, who played nearly a decade in the Wizards’ frontcourt, will work as a color commentator for select games.

Wall will make his MNMT debut Nov. 8 when the Wizards host the Dallas Mavericks at Capital One Arena. Haywood’s first appearance comes a week earlier Saturday when the Wizards face the Orlando Magic.

“John and Brendan are not only beloved figures in Wizards history, but they also bring a wealth of basketball knowledge, insight and personality that fans will instantly connect with,” said Zach Leonsis, president of media and new enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “We take great pride in featuring a strong roster of former players and team alumni across our Capitals, Wizards and Mystics broadcasts โ€” voices who truly understand what it means to represent D.C.”

Leonsis said Wall and Haywood will provide valuable perspective and analysis as the young Wizards team develops.

Wall, 34, retired this summer after an 11-year NBA career. The Wizards selected him with the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft out of Kentucky, and he became one of the most dynamic point guards of his generation.

The five-time All-Star averaged 18.7 points and 8.9 assists per game over his career, earned All-Defensive Second Team honors in 2015 and won the 2014 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Wall also will serve as an analyst for Amazon Prime Video’s NBA coverage.

“Washington, D.C., will always be my second home,” Wall said. “The city, the fans and the Wizards organization have all played a huge role in my life and career. I’m excited to join Monumental Sports Network and the Wizards studio team as I continue the next chapter of my basketball journey and be back around the game in a place that means so much to me.”

Haywood played 13 NBA seasons and won a title in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him 20th overall in 2001 and traded him to Washington on draft night. He played with the Wizards from 2001 to 2010.

After retiring, Haywood worked as a college basketball analyst for NBC/Peacock and CBS Sports and co-hosted on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“As a former Wizards player, I’m super excited to be back in D.C. and calling games for this young and exciting team,” said Haywood, a North Carolina alum. “I can’t wait to share this new chapter with the fans and be part of the energy that’s building here.”

The Wizards broadcast booth will feature play-by-play announcer Chris Miller, entering his fourth season with MNMT, and lead color analyst Drew Gooden, returning for his seventh season. Haywood will join the team for select games throughout the season. Meghan McPeak will return as sideline reporter for her fourth season covering the Wizards.

Wes Hall returns as host of Wizards Pregame Live and Wizards Postgame Live. He will be joined by Wall and analysts Jason Smith, Christy Winters Scott, Tony Massenburg, Jimmy Patsos and Greivis Vรกsquez, along with appearances from Glenn Consor and Ron Thompson.
