WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, were defeated by the Delaware Blue Coats (18-23), 125-111, on Friday night in the nation’s capital.

Delaware used a Capital City dry spell in the second quarter to push out to a 15-point lead in the frame, later carrying a 12-point advantage into the half. The Go-Go were able to cut the lead in the third quarter, and eventually took their first lead since the first quarter with 7:33 remaining in the fourth. The teams traded baskets for the next three minutes – featuring four lead changes and two ties. The Blue Coats used a 17-0 run over the final 4:40 of the game to break a 108-108 deadlock. A Chris Chiozza three at the buzzer broke the run and the Go-Go scoring drought after the damage had been done.

Capital City finished the game shooting 50.6 percent from the field, its highest shooting percentage in a loss this season.

Delaware was led by 76ers’ two-way player Shake Milton, playing in his first game since undergoing surgery on his hand on February 12, who led all scorers with 31 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. Norvel Pelle secured a season-high 16 rebounds and added 22 points for his second 20-point game of the season. Jared Brownridge (19), Rashad Vaughn (16), Haywood Highsmith (13) and D.J. Hogg (10) all scored in double figures for the Blue Coat as well.
