Singer John Legend has been named People magazine’s 2019 Sexiest Man Alive.

The new issue, slated for release Friday, will have two different covers, one showing the 40-year-old married father of two wearing an unbuttoned blue shirt and standing in waist-deep water, while the other showing him in a fitted suit jacket.

In 2018, Legend became the first African American man to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony during his career after receiving an Emmy for his turn in the NBC adaption of “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

“I’m excited but a little scared at the same time,” Legend told People about his latest honor. “It’s a lot of pressure.”

Other recent winners include Idris Elba, who was honored last year, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
