While Jamie and Erana Tyler might be known nationwide as cast members on OWN’s “Love & Marriage: DC,” the couple does a lot of work through their mental health-focused nonprofit, including teaming up with a local organization to give back through a Dec. 21 holiday toy drive in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

“Jamie and I are honored to support and volunteer with the Lean On Us Unity Childcare Center (LOUUCC) Community Toy Drive, an event we have proudly been part of for the past two years because serving children in our community means everything to us,” the Tylers told The Informer in a joint statement. “This special drive allows kids to shop for new toys and bikes donated by incredible supporters and partners, including The Jamie Tyler Foundation, creating joy, dignity, and unforgettable memories.”

In addition to providing toys as part of the organization’s Whoville Community Toy Drive, the couple is excited to continue a holiday tradition that not only benefits the community, but brings joy to all.

“Last year, we dressed as elves, served hot cocoa and cookies, danced to Christmas music, and watched each child leave smiling with toys and bikes in hand, moments that truly filled our hearts. This year, with the Whoville theme, we’re excited to return as the Grinch and continue spreading love, laughter, and holiday magic to the children we cherish so deeply,” they continued. “The Whoville Community Toy Drive is an annual initiative rooted in compassion, service, and community responsibility. This year, the drive will support 200 children, ensuring they experience joy, dignity, and hope during the holiday season.”

Priscilla Ofosu and Dianeda Short, the founders of Lean On Us Unity House of Faith, are overjoyed to aid the holiday spirit by giving back.

“The Whoville Community Toy Drive was created to meet a real need—supporting families and children who may otherwise go without during the holidays. Giving through LOUUCC’s Whoville is about more than toys; it is about showing families they are seen, supported, and surrounded by a caring community,” the founders said in a statement submitted to The Informer. “Through collective generosity, Lean On Us Unity House of Faith & its Community Partners continue their commitment to uplifting children and strengthening families, especially during moments that matter most.”
